The role
As a Claims Specialist I, you will serve as the first point of contact for fleet managers, commercial drivers, and agents following an accident or incident. You will answer incoming calls, capture essential incident data from calls and incoming mail, and submit digital First Notice of Loss (FNOL) reports accurately and efficiently to launch the claims process.
This role reports to a Team Leader and sits within a team of 20 specialists in the Komodo US department.
We have a hybrid working model. You’ll work remotely, with up to one day a week in our Dallas office. Your working schedule will be Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
What you'll do
Inbound Call Intake: Answer high-volume incoming calls from policyholders, commercial drivers, and fleet managers with empathy, speed, and professionalism.
FNOL Report Generation: Gather critical details—including incident location, vehicle damage, injuries, third-party details, and police reports—and file digital FNOL reports in our online portal.
Triaging & Escalation: Identify high-priority or catastrophic incidents (e.g., severe injuries, multi-vehicle collisions, hazardous spills) and immediately route them to senior adjusters or emergency services.
Customer Guidance: Set clear expectations for callers regarding the claims process, required documentation, and next steps for adjuster assignment.
Data Integrity & Documentation: Maintain precise, comprehensive, and professional notes in the online claims system to ensure seamless handoffs to downstream adjusters.
What we're looking for
We’d love to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:
Essential
Strong active listening and communication skills, with the ability to accurately capture key information while speaking with customers.
A customer-focused approach, with the confidence to support customers who may be stressed, frustrated, or anxious.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work across multiple systems effectively.
Good problem-solving skills and sound judgement when following processes and making decisions.
A Texas Adjuster License, or willingness to obtain one within six months of joining.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
At least six months' experience in customer service, a contact center, claims, or an administrative role.
Good computer literacy and confidence using web-based systems.
Nice to have
Previous auto insurance or claims experience.
What to expect from the process
Screen: A 30-minute call with the Talent team. We'll cover the role, your background, and your questions.

We design this to be a two-way conversation. Come with questions — we want you to leave knowing whether this is the right move for you.

Working here
You'll do well here if you: Move through ambiguity without waiting for a perfect brief Take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks ⚡ Adapt quickly when priorities shift, and help others do the same Look for ways to improve how things work, not just how to complete them Use tools, data, and colleagues to make better decisions
This probably isn't the right fit if you: Prefer clearly defined processes and a stable, slow-moving environment Are most comfortable staying within the boundaries of your job description Find frequent context-switching draining rather than energising
Inclusion and flexibility
INSHUR is committed to building a team where everyone can bring their full self to work. We follow a structured hiring process and train our interview teams to support fairness and reduce bias.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or age.
This role is advertised as full-time. We're open to discussing part-time, job-sharing, or other flexible arrangements for the right person.
If you need any adjustments during the process, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate.
