JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for audio-visual support spanning numerous classrooms and event/conference spaces in multiple buildings on the UTSW campus and remote teaching and learning. A self-starter able to work independently and within a team environment. This position may be engaged in video conferences, live streaming, live audiovisual event support, and ensuring presenters are aware of the in-room technology and ready prior to the start of events/presentations. This position will help train and coach/lead new team members about the processes and procedures of the department.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required
  • Education
    High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience
    7 years of experience with audio visual services and/or experience managing external vendor relationships and integrations to support business needs.
Preferred

    Associate's Degree
  • Experience
    Background in audio visual, computers or related technology fields preferred.

JOB DUTIES
  • Responsible for handling critical issues related to fixing hardware and applications as well as providing technical support promptly.
  • Communicate project status during project reviews with management and project stakeholders.
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
  • Will be project lead on small to mid-range projects.
  • Responsible for coordinating team efforts, interacting with, and supporting both internal and external business stakeholders, and assigning and/or completing all required project tasks to completion within project timelines.
  • The position may work on projects that impact collaboration at new and existing locations.
  • Provides patient education concerning technology provided for health education, video conferencing, entertainment, and basic technology needs.
  • Troubleshooting and replacing hardware systems due to failure of technology within patient rooms at CUH and Zale, including replacing any equipment associated with patient room AV equipment, including televisions, cameras, pillow speakers, and more.
  • Conference room support for faculty and staff meetings, including training, troubleshooting, and hardware replacement.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues with audio, video, switching and control systems in conference rooms, huddle rooms, waiting areas, lecture halls etc.
  • Online conference support for faculty and staff via conference rooms and desktop workstations.
  • Builds documentation to reinforce the process and policies we have regarding AV best practices and room management.
  • Maintains daily record of time worked on specific projects for timesheet entry and work performed reports.
  • Complete Preventative Maintenance visits to ensure all conference rooms and systems are operating optimally.
  • Outreach to staff, faculty, students, affiliates and other conference and teaching space stakeholders to gather feedback on current service gaps and identify opportunities for continual service improvement.
  • Provides appropriate communication to end-users and stakeholders regarding important AV system changes in the classroom and conference room environments.
  • Performs site surveys for new buildings/projects with the Supervisor or Manager.
  • Develops solid relationships, demonstrates the ability to inspire trust, and maintain confidentiality to best understand and support executive-level needs.
  • Provides recommendations regarding innovative technologies to better support the Patient Satisfaction.
  • Independently resolve complex, break/fix issues in person or via telephone.
  • Operating Room support before and during cases for remote education/conferencing.
  • Patient room hardware refresh.
  • On-call support during off-hours and/or holidays.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned Still perform duties of a Level 1 tech as needed.
