Summary Description
Scout Energy is a private energy investment firm that acquires, operates, and improves upstream conventional oil and gas properties for institutional investors. Scout’s business is both the management of the private energy funds and the operations of the oil and gas assets it owns. The current employee base is approximately 400.
Scout is seeking a Data Architect with experience using Upstream Energy applications such as Enertia, Quorum, ProCount and be able understand how data sets should interact and flow between systems. Technical skills, an ability to troubleshoot problems, and a strong attention to details are a must.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Snowflake Data Warehouse environment
- Relationally model enterprise level data using SQL and/or Python
- Design and develop application integrations using API or Orchestration Pipelines
- Provide ad-hoc data support to business users via queries or reports
- Support other data sets and enterprise applications, as required
Skills & Specifications
- 5-10 years of Energy Industry experience in application or data management roles
- Ability to communicate technical item to non-technical business users
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge on Snowflake and/or other relational database management systems
- Intermediate to advanced SQL skills
- Demonstrated ability in Data Warehousing and Semantic Modeling best practices
Preferred Requirements
- Knowledge of Python scripting and API connectivity
- Familiarity with medallion architectures
- Hands on experience with Business Intelligence Applications (Power BI, Spotfire, Sigma)
- Custom development in other programming languages
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or comparable field
- 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer and/or Software Architect
