About the Opportunity 
Symbiotic Services is seeking a detail-oriented Document Control Specialist to support product 
development and manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for the accurate creation, 
maintenance, and updating of Bills of Materials (BOM), engineering documentation, and cost 
data to ensure production accuracy and efficiency. 

 
Key Responsibilities 
∙Build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) for new and existing products 
∙Create BOM shells for new models and hospitality products 
∙Set up and update initial cost information for foam sets, parts, and new models 
∙Maintain and update sub-assembly items by coordinating with vendors on updates or 
discrepancies 
∙Create, log, and maintain Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) in Oracle 
∙Implement Engineering Change Orders and update Engineering Backlog 
∙Coordinate with scheduling regarding test run pieces 
∙Communicate with internal departments regarding new item setup and pricing 
∙Perform cost rollups and updates for static bills and configured models 
∙Maintain weekly data related to BOM tracking and Beta quality 
∙Support additional duties and special projects as assigned 
∙Maintain professional and collaborative working relationships across departments 

 








 



Qualifications & Skills 
∙Minimum 2 years of Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint) 
∙Above-average proficiency in Excel 
∙Strong data entry skills (8,000–9,000 keystrokes per hour with minimal errors) 
∙Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
∙Strong organizational and multitasking abilities 
∙Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines 
∙Collaborative team player with strong attention to detail 

 
Minimum Requirements 
∙High School Diploma or equivalent 
∙2 years of data entry experience 
∙1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment 

 
Preferred Qualifications 
∙Experience with Oracle 
∙Experience in furniture or home furnishings industry 
∙Bilingual (English/Spanish)
