Scheduled Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. OT as required.
Overview:
The Draftsperson will create technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software based on the ideas and specifications of our engineers and designers. They are responsible for converting concepts into precise blueprints, schematics, and models for construction, manufacturing, and engineering projects, ensuring they comply with industry standards and regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Design, draft, and check drawings and documentation for all concrete and steel pressure pipe projects.
- Review projects for accuracy and prioritize incoming projects for timely completion.
- Drive continuous improvement within the department and project management process to reduce completion time and enhance accuracy.
- Have a knowledge of AWWA, ASME, AWS, and ASTM standards and other specifications for products we manufacture and competitive products.
- Assist in modeling / drafting and analysis of new manufacturing products and processes
- Organize and manage drawing library
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Microsoft Office Suite fluency.
- Proficient with AutoCad, STACK-IT, SolidWorks or related drafting software.
- Ability to interpret technical documents.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing and systematic continuous improvement tools preferred.
Required Education and experience
- Associates degree in engineering technology/computer drafting preferred.
- At least one year of engineering technology/drafting experience required.
Work Environment
- Work will take place primarily in an office environment although some time will be spent in a manufacturing facility.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas in the facility and access all machinery.
