Position Summary

The Frozen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Frozen Foods Department, ensuring exceptional customer service, product quality, merchandising standards, inventory control, and food safety compliance. This position supports store sales and profitability by maintaining in-stock conditions, minimizing shrink, and leading department associates to achieve operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities Department Operations
  • Maintain attractive, fully stocked, and organized frozen food displays.
  • Ensure proper rotation of product using FIFO (First In, First Out) methods.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
  • Execute department merchandising plans, sales programs, and promotional events.
  • Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and product integrity throughout the department.
  • Ensure freezers and cases are clean, properly maintained, and operating at required temperatures.
Customer Service
  • Provide prompt, friendly, and professional customer service.
  • Assist customers with product selection and inquiries.
  • Resolve customer concerns in a positive and timely manner.
  • Promote a welcoming shopping environment that supports customer loyalty.
Inventory & Shrink Control
  • Assist with ordering and inventory management processes.
  • Monitor product movement and identify opportunities to improve sales and reduce out-of-stocks.
  • Control shrink through proper handling, rotation, storage, and product recovery practices.
  • Participate in inventory counts and audits as required.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Supervise and support department associates during assigned shifts.
  • Provide training on department procedures, merchandising standards, food safety, and customer service expectations.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Communicate department goals and operational priorities to associates.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company food safety and sanitation policies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and company standards.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for customers and employees.
  • Properly handle and store products to preserve quality and food safety.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous grocery retail or frozen foods experience preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Basic math and inventory management skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Frequently lift and carry products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in refrigerated and freezer environments for extended periods.
  • Ability to push, pull, and move product carts and equipment.
