Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Aircraft Technician to support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our fleet of Embraer Phenom 300 aircraft. This position serves as a working lead technician responsible for coordinating maintenance activities, mentoring technicians, troubleshooting complex aircraft discrepancies, and ensuring maintenance is completed in accordance with manufacturer instructions and FAA regulations.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader who promotes professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence in a fast-paced Part 135 environment supporting life-saving organ transport operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities for assigned aircraft and maintenance personnel.
  • Perform scheduled inspections, routine maintenance, and unscheduled repairs on company aircraft.
  • Troubleshoot airframe, engine, avionics, and aircraft systems to diagnose root causes and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to maintenance technicians to ensure high-quality workmanship and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed in accordance with manufacturer maintenance manuals, approved data, company procedures, and applicable FAA regulations.
  • Assist with maintenance planning and prioritization to support maximum aircraft availability and dispatch reliability.
  • Review completed maintenance documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Control and Quality to ensure effective communication and operational support.
  • Support Aircraft on Ground (AOG) recovery efforts.
  • Promote a professional, safety-focused work environment emphasizing efficiency, organization, and teamwork.
  • Assist in identifying process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.
  • Ensure all work is performed to the highest industry standards while maintaining compliance with company policies and safety procedures.

BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
  • 5+ years of experience maintaining corporate aircraft.
  • Prior experience troubleshooting complex aircraft systems and performing operationally critical maintenance.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in a maintenance environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations and industry best practices.
  • Ability to lead by example while working effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must possess own tools required to support aircraft maintenance operations.

TransMedics is committed to equitable and transparent compensation. The expected hourly rate for this role is $42.50-$60.53, which represents the company’s current good-faith estimate of compensation for this position. Actual hour rate will depend on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific work location. Hourly roles may also be eligible for overtime, shift differentials, incentive programs, and our comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and wellness resources).
