Job Description:

Shield AI is redefining autonomous aviation with cutting-edge AI and GPS/RF-denied navigation technologies. Our aircraft are shaping the future of autonomous flight, and we’re expanding our team to keep pushing the boundaries of innovation and performance.

 

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager – Electrical Engineering to lead a team of talented engineers developing and integrating the avionics and electrical systems that power our next-generation aircraft, X-BAT. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys mentoring engineers, and is passionate about delivering reliable, high-performance systems from concept through production.

What you'll do:
  • Lead aircraft and ground vehicle integration of custom electronics, sensors, actuators, payloads, and other flight critical sub-systems
  • Demonstrate cross-functional ownership engaging with all X-BAT teams. Including manufacturing, operators, supplier development engineering, supply chain, mechanical, thermal, etc.
  • Contribute to aircraft and ground vehicle architecture design
  • Drive design and execution of flight critical custom avionics
  • Build, lead, and mentor a world-class avionics engineering team 
  • Establish and enforce appropriate design processes 
  • Maintain technical excellence—implement rigorous design processes and ensure compliance with industry standards. 
  • Work in a fast-paced environment  


Required qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer
  • 3+ years of lead/manager experience 
  • Strong technical fundamentals 
  • Experience with custom electronics design and system level integration
