MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER

Location: Dallas Fort Worth Metro Area / In Person

Employment Type: Full-Time

ABOUT US

We are a stealth defense technology startup operating at the intersection of advanced hardware, modern manufacturing, and next-generation AI-enabled manufacturing software. Our mission is to design, build, and deliver real systems that address urgent strategic and industrial capability needs today.

The company is fully funded and has confirmed customer demand with orders exceeding projected manufacturing capacity through 2028.

Our team combines deep technical expertise across multiple disciplines with the operational rigor required to design, manufacture, deploy, and support systems in demanding real-world environments.

Our culture values execution, builders, doers, and ownership. We move quickly, solve hard problems, and take pride in turning ideas into working systems that deliver meaningful results for our customers and mission partners. If you enjoy building real systems and solving hard problems, we would like to learn more about you.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Our teams span engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, operations, and software. Together, they design, build, and deploy complex systems that must work reliably in demanding real-world environments.

The organization operates with a strong bias toward execution. Engineers work closely with production teams, software interacts directly with hardware and factory systems, and supply chain and logistics ensure that components move efficiently from suppliers to production to delivery.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex manufacturing infrastructure projects for defense-grade metalworking production lines. This mid-level hands-on role is critical to scaling large, high-technological-complexity lines while managing vendors, construction, budgets, and installations in a fast-growing defense environment.

What You’ll Do

· Lead end-to-end projects for the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of large-scale, high-complexity production lines in metalworking factories supporting defense, energy, and aerospace programs

· Develop detailed engineering specifications and utilize SolidWorks CAD for layout design, custom tooling, fixtures, and integration of utilities and support systems (power, HVAC, compressed air, water, etc.)

· Manage vendors, contractors, and suppliers through the full lifecycle: RFPs, selection, contract negotiation, and performance oversight

· Provide on-site construction and installation oversight to ensure projects meet specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements

· Control project budgets, schedules, and resources with rigorous tracking and reporting to deliver on-time and within target costs

· Write and maintain technical specifications, drawings, and documentation packages for equipment, facility modifications, and process implementations

· Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality, and operations teams to qualify and ramp new production capabilities

· Drive risk mitigation, change management, and continuous improvement in demanding, real-world manufacturing environments

Required Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field

· Experience: 3–7+ years in manufacturing engineering project management, with direct background in metalworking factories for defense, energy, or aerospace sectors (hands-on experience with large, high-technological-complexity production lines strongly preferred)

· Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks CAD; strong experience in specification writing, vendor management, construction/installation oversight, budget control, and integration of utilities/support systems

· Leadership & Work Style: Hands-on project leader and team collaborator who thrives in high-pressure, fast-paced environments

· Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and proactively solve problems

· Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs in a gritty manufacturing shop environment with heat and noise

Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

· Knowledge of defense and aerospace standards (MIL-STD, ITAR, AS9100)

· Experience with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera) or PMP certification

· Background in utilities and support system design/installation for complex production environments

· Additional CAD/simulation experience or Six Sigma Green Belt

Benefits

· Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage

· Paid Time Off (PTO)

· 401(k) Plan

· Relocation Assistance (depending on role eligibility)

The recruiter assigned to this role can share more information about the specific compensation and benefit details associated with this role during the hiring process.
