Issue written and oral instructions. Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers, provide regular written suggestions for process improvement. Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances. Ensure correct shipment of international orders inclusive of appropriate documentation, licensing, product count and product verification. Share the cultural concepts of situational leadership and facilitate the application of the transition to situational leadership. Monitor pickers’ and packers’ productivity. Verify all Pick and Pack lists are signed off correctly, as well as verify the ship method has been applied correctly. Assist employees with work process problems. Consistently update(s) a work instruction/work process manual for all shipping procedures. Manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and will assist with the hiring of the employees within that department. Job Classification: Shipping Supervisor Organizational Relationships Shipping Supervisor reports to the Shipping Manager. Shipping Supervisor should be receptive to the needs of both the internal and external customers of MUM Industries. Shipping Supervisor needs to interact with operations/manufacturing/materials to satisfy the needs of the customers. Job Qualifications Education and Training Associates Degree or equivalent experience. Must have prior supervisor experience. Advanced computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, and MUM specific systems (i.e. Global Shop) UPS Worldship, all shipping interfaced programing. Knowledge Shipping background is required Experience in Shipping of industrial products is preferred Must be able to develop an in-depth knowledge of Global Ship, knowledge should be extensive enough to train others, help others solve problems and run reports. Must be able to develop a comprehensive knowledge of our products and processes to be able to communicate and problem solve with freight carriers and internal departments. Must be capable of meeting or exceeding individual performance measures. Must have good interpersonal skills and a good phone personality.
