Contract Length: 12+ Months 

 

The MuleSoft Architect will lead the design and delivery of enterprise integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. This role combines deep MuleSoft expertise with modern AI-assisted development practices (e.g., GitHub Copilot, MuleSoft Vibes) to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and enforce consistent integration standards. The Architect will own the integration reference architecture, define API governance and security standards, and mentor developers to ensure scalable, reusable, and well-governed integration solutions.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and oversee implementation of integrations using Anypoint Platform components including Design Center, API Manager, Runtime Manager, and Exchange.
  • Apply API-led connectivity principles to design System, Process, and Experience APIs on Mule 4.x, using DataWeave for complex transformations.
  • Own and evolve the integration reference architecture, reusable assets, common frameworks, and shared components (e.g., error-handling, logging, security).
  • Define and implement patterns for using AI tools (GitHub Copilot, MuleSoft Vibes) across the SDLC for code generation, testing, documentation, and code reviews.
  • Establish and enforce integration standards, guardrails, and best practices, including security and API governance policies.
  • Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines for MuleSoft (Git, Maven, pipeline tools), ensuring automated build, test, and deployment across environments.
  • Lead technical design reviews and integration governance forums, providing expert guidance and resolving design issues.
  • Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to understand requirements, propose integration solutions, and communicate architectural decisions clearly.
  • Mentor and coach developers, promoting reuse, design discipline, and consistent application of standards and patterns.

  • Extensive hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Design Center, API Manager, Runtime Manager, Exchange).
  • Strong expertise in API-led connectivity and designing System, Process, and Experience APIs using Mule 4.x and DataWeave.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, MuleSoft Vibes) and defining patterns for their use in code, tests, documentation, and reviews.
  • Proven track record owning integration reference architectures, reusable assets, and cross-cutting frameworks (error handling, logging, security).
  • Strong background in CI/CD for MuleSoft using Git, Maven, and modern pipeline tooling.
  • Experience defining and implementing API governance, security standards, and technical guardrails for integration work.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead design/gov forums and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience, enforcing design discipline and promoting reuse within development teams.

Pay Range

USD $70.00 - USD $75.00 /Hr.
