Position Summary
The Night Crew Supervisor is responsible for leading overnight store operations, ensuring shelves are fully stocked, displays are properly maintained, and the store is ready for business each morning. This role supervises the night crew team, manages workflow, and ensures productivity, safety, and stocking standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overnight Operations
    • Supervise all overnight stocking activities across departments
    • Ensure shelves are replenished, faced, and organized according to company standards
    • Oversee breaking down loads, sorting product, and stocking efficiently
    • Ensure store is fully merchandised and ready for opening each day
  • Inventory & Stocking
    • Coordinate unloading and processing of deliveries
    • Monitor product rotation and proper placement (FIFO where applicable)
    • Identify out-of-stocks and communicate with department leaders
    • Maintain backroom organization and efficiency
  • Merchandising & Presentation
    • Ensure aisles, displays, and end caps are stocked and visually appealing
    • Execute reset plans, seasonal sets, and promotional displays as needed
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and stock areas
  • Team Leadership
    • Train, coach, and supervise night crew associates
    • Assign tasks and ensure completion within scheduled timeframes
    • Monitor productivity and hold team accountable to performance expectations
    • Promote a safe, efficient, and teamwork-focused environment
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to all safety guidelines and proper equipment use
    • Maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment
    • Follow company policies and operational procedures
    • Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly
  • Store Communication & Support
    • Communicate nightly progress, issues, and priorities to store leadership
    • Coordinate with department managers on stocking needs and priorities
    • Support inventory counts, audits, and special projects

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous grocery or stocking experience required
  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in an overnight setting
  • Basic math and communication skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs or more
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Continuous physical activity throughout shift

Work Environment

  • Retail grocery setting (overnight hours)
  • Fast-paced, labor-intensive environment
  • Limited customer interaction during shifts
  • Flexible schedule including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays

Pay Transparency:


Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).  Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. *For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
