Operations Manager - Freight

We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Operations Manager - Freight to oversee daily freight operations focusing on LTL, FTL, intermodal, and expedited shipments. The ideal candidate will lead operational teams to deliver efficient, compliant, and customer-focused freight management services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end freight operations including planning, scheduling, and execution of shipments.
  • Oversee team members responsible for freight booking, carrier management, and shipment tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and internal policies.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate with sales, customer service, and warehouse teams to meet customer expectations.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with carriers, vendors, and partners.
  • Handle problem resolution and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior management.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in freight operations or logistics management.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing operational teams.
  • Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, transportation modes (LTL, FTL, intermodal, expedited).
  • Familiarity with TMS software and freight tracking tools.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred but not required.
