Duties, Responsibilities & Other
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of federal security camera infrastructure projects. This role manages the end-to-end deployment of surveillance systems in remote, high-security environments, supporting federal protection and situational awareness missions. The Project Manager will ensure strict compliance with federal regulations, security requirements, and contract deliverables while coordinating multidisciplinary teams across construction and integration scopes.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Project Leadership & Lifecycle ManagementÂ
- Manage the full project lifecycle from Notice to Proceed through project closeoutÂ
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk management plansÂ
- Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout activitiesÂ
- Deliver regular project briefings, status updates, and milestone reviewsÂ
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the General Contractor and key stakeholdersÂ
Federal Compliance & Contract OversightÂ
- Ensure adherence to federal contract requirements, scope, and performance milestonesÂ
- Interpret and execute work in accordance with federal RFPs, SOWs, and technical specificationsÂ
- Support federal reporting, documentation, audits, and closeout requirementsÂ
- Review and manage change orders in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)Â
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive project data and controlled informationÂ
Construction & Technical ExecutionÂ
- Oversee construction activities related to surveillance infrastructure deploymentsÂ
- Manage installation of pole-mounted security cameras, IR illuminators, fiber, and power systemsÂ
- Coordinate site assessments, logistics, and mobilization for remote locationsÂ
- Ensure proper system testing, commissioning, and operational acceptanceÂ
- Oversee integration with Video Management Systems (VMS) and command-and-control platformsÂ
Stakeholder & Team CoordinationÂ
- Coordinate with federal field offices, engineers, inspectors, IT/security teams, and subcontractorsÂ
- Manage internal staff, subcontractors, vendors, and logistics providers operating in regionsÂ
- Monitor contractor performance, safety, and quality in challenging environmentsÂ
- Foster clear, professional communication across all project stakeholdersÂ
Risk, Safety & Environmental ManagementÂ
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to security, logistics, weather, and terrainÂ
- Ensure compliance with federal safety standards and construction requirementsÂ
- Coordinate environmental, cultural, and land-use compliance activitiesÂ
- Proactively address issues impacting schedule, cost, or operational readinessÂ
Financial & Contract ManagementÂ
- Manage project budgets, cost controls, and financial forecasts under federal contractsÂ
- Track expenditures, deliverables, and invoicing complianceÂ
- Support contract modifications, extensions, and closeout activitiesÂ
Â
Specialized Experience Required:Â
- 7+ years of project management experience in infrastructure, security systems, or federal projectsÂ
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects for U.S. federal government agenciesÂ
- Strong understanding of CCTV, IP video, networking, and low-voltage systemsÂ
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and federal contract documentsÂ
- Ability to complete KCI Project Management CertificationÂ
Specialized Experience Preferred:Â
- PMP certificationÂ
- Experience supporting DHS, CBP, DoD, or other federal security programsÂ
- Experience managing projects in remote, high-risk, or austere environmentsÂ
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and compliance processesÂ
- Familiarity with Salesforce (SiteTracker) and/or Primavera P6 (EPPM)Â
Work EnvironmentÂ
- Combination of office, field, and remote border locationsÂ
- Frequent travel required, including rugged terrain and harsh weather conditionsÂ
Qualifications
Education and/or Skills Required: • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 4 years of related professional experience, or 8 years of equivalent professional experience.• Participation in continuing education and professional development programs.• Proven experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery.• Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and motivate project teams.• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.• Deep technical knowledge in the specific field of the project.• Expertise in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation.• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.• Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.• Strong negotiation skills to manage multiple contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements effectively. • Strong comprehension of accounting principles to effectively manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
Education and/or Work Experience Preferred: • Master’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry)
Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:• Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training along with passing the PM Board within 6 months of start date.
