Position Summary:

We are seeking a Reliability & Project Engineer to ensure reliability of facility mechanical and electrical systems and provide design support for Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) development. The appropriate candidate will have experience in maintenance, reliability, and design for industrial projects that involve mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil components.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that safe work practices, environmental stewardship, and product quality are prioritized at all facilities
  • Ensure that proper safe work procedures are created, implemented, and updated for all critical maintenance tasks
  • Manage maintenance work order (MWO) system and provide engineering support to ensure successful completion of MWOs
  • Plan, implement, and carry out contracted maintenance activities related to all facilities
  • Create and maintain a maintenance plan for all critical assets, selecting the proper predictive maintenance (PdM) and preventive maintenance (PM) techniques
  • Be a resource to site technicians regarding acceptable practices for specific non-routine situations
  • Be a first line technical resource for maintenance and production
  • Prepare and provide technical training for the maintenance workforce
  • Coordinate and procure proper training, as needed, for technicians
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective Action / Preventative Action (CAPA) and other continuous improvement reports
  • Perform modifications/improvements to equipment to eliminate root causes of failure, improve reliability, and reduce overall operating cost
  • Provide sketches, red-lined drawings, technical information as necessary and to ensure that plant documentation/prints stay up to date
  • Identify training needs analysis for all team members on a regular interval and provide training as needed.
  • Generate site layout, equipment layout, piping, and electrical drawing construction packages
  • Evaluate value engineering opportunities for projects
  • Generate equipment bid specification documents
  • Develop estimating process for generating in-house cost estimates for RNG construction projects
  • Coordinate with vendors for site pre-construction activities such as underground utility locates, topographical surveying, and geotechnical investigation
  • Perform MTOs and develop quantity estimates for construction projects
  • Procure materials for projects as needed
  • Travel to sites before and during construction activities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-year degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years prior experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as advanced analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • CAD drafting skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with renewable energy production

 

Work Environment:

  • Office setting, outdoors manufacturing plant setting, hazardous chemicals environment, construction site setting
  • 25-50% travel
