SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly accounting cycle, and assisting the Controller with special projects, as necessary, with an emphasis on improving team processes and procedures and efficient operational reporting.

The Senior Accountant will be a key contributor to the accounting team by creating, analyzing, and reporting timely and accurate financial information. This role builds impactful working relationships to support business partners and to ensure all financial transactions are timely recorded and supported

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned accounts, complete month-end close activities in a timely manner
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce monthly close analytics – income statement and balance sheet analysis
  • Provide support for year-end close, financial reporting and audits
  • Operate controls effectively for complete & accurate financial results in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Participate in any special projects, and work with other team members to assist in completion
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • Experience in audit or general accounting preferred
  • Experience in multi-unit retail and/or Franchising preferred
  • Experience managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel; strong working knowledge of other MS Office applications
  • Strong retail math knowledge and business acumen
  • Strong Project Management skills and can manage multiple and competing priorities with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail in a growth environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
  • Committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & TRAVEL

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
  • Evenings & weekend work may be required occasionally
  • Travel: Rarely (Less than 5%)
