Senior Pega Developer

 

About the Role

Conduent is seeking a Pega Developer to design, develop, and implement business applications using the Pega Platform, bridging business requirements with technical solutions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Design: Design and develop Pega applications using Pega Infinity (v8.x/v24+), ensuring adherence to the Enterprise Class Structure (ECS) and reusable design patterns

  • Implementation: Lead the development of complex case types, data models, UI components (Constellation/Traditional), and sophisticated business logic (Data Transforms, Activities, Decision Rules)

  • Integration: Architect and implement robust integrations using REST, SOAP, Kafka, and Pega Connectors to bridge the gap between Pega and legacy systems

  • Technical Leadership: Mentor junior System Architects, conduct rigorous code reviews, and ensure the team maintains a high Guardrail Score (90+)

  • Performance Tuning: Use Pega tools (Tracer, PAL, PLA, DB Trace) to identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance

  • DevOps & Security: Support CI/CD pipelines and implement advanced security configurations, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC)

  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Pega-based enterprise solutions from inception to production

  • Create and maintain technical design documents, including application frameworks, class structures, and data models

  • Design scalable solutions following Pega best practices, Enterprise Class Structure (ECS), and application layering principles

  • Perform architecture reviews to ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards and Pega guardrails

  • Leverage reusable components and frameworks to accelerate development and ensure consistency

 

Required Qualifications

  • Certification: Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) - Mandatory

  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience post-CSSA certification

  • Proven expertise in Pega PRPC platform development (version 7.x/8.x minimum)

  • Experience with complex case management, routing, SLAs, and escalation models

  • Ability to build robust integrations with external systems using REST, SOAP, MQ, and other connectivity protocols

  • Strong proficiency in:

    • Pega Data Pages, Declare Expressions, Decision Rules, and Activities

    • Java, JavaScript, XML, JSON

    • SQL and database concepts (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2)

    • Application servers (WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat)

    • Microservices architecture and reusable component design

    • Object-oriented programming principles

  • Communication skills with ability to present to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies (SAFe certification is a plus)

  • Full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) experience from requirements gathering to production deployment

  • Iterative development and continuous delivery practices

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare Domain Experience:

    • Healthcare customer management knowledge

    • Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare regulatory standards

    • Experience with healthcare payer/provider workflows

 

  • Government Sector Experience:

    • Citizen-facing or government-specific application experience

    • Federal/state agency project experience

    • Knowledge of government compliance requirements (e.g., FedRAMP)

    • Experience with public sector case management systems

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation and/or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $96,250 – 125,000
