Job Description Summary:
The Senior Research Compliance Administrator, under general direction, serves as a subject matter expert with regards to research compliance across System. Responsible for administering the evaluation of compliance matters and programs, serving as a trusted liaison with System members, participating in training, development, and improvement efforts across System, and coordinating guidelines and standard operating procedure development.
Responsibilities:
- Supports Research Compliance Office leadership in the administration of research compliance programs for human subjects research, animal research oversight, biohazards in research, financial conflict of interest in research, research misconduct, Al in research, and other areas. This may include operational ownership of research compliance processes, project management, scheduling visits, reviewing approved protocols and relevant records, participating in on-site visits, and preparing reports for leaders across System.
- Conducts preliminary programmatic reviews in support of System member SOPs, committee functions, website content, and protocols, including post-approval monitoring. Assists in the development of recommendations and strategies for enhancing programmatic initiatives.
- Serves as a liaison with System members and external stakeholders as appropriate for research compliance questions, concerns, and incidents.
- Coordinates, plans, develops, and participates in training activities including seminars, newsletters, and electronic communications, as needed, as well as regular System-wide meetings.
- Participates in site visits to build relationships and provide training and guidance on applicable regulations.
- Administers the development and maintenance of SOPs, or other guidance, and ensures processes are followed through periodic review with office procedures.
- Participates in change management for revised or new research compliance requirements and processes.
- Maintains databases and prepares and distributes reports on compliance activities and other metrics.
- Provide expert guidance to System members in multiple areas of research compliance.
- Stays abreast of research compliance best practices and all applicable institutional guidelines and federal regulations. Assists with accreditation activities as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Some domestic travel.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPIA, CIP, CHRC, or other relevant certification relating to research or research compliance preferred.Â
