Position Summary The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of our organization. This position is responsible for managing complex accounting functions, preparing financial statements, supporting audits, and providing strategic insights to leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare finance, particularly in long-term care or skilled nursing environments. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Oversee general ledger activities and ensure accurate journal entries Reconcile sub-ledger, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet accounts Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Support external audits and regulatory reporting (e.g., Medicare/Medicaid cost reports) Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies Collaborate with facility administrators to monitor financial performance Identify process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations Supervise junior accounting staff and provide mentorship as needed QualificationsQualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in healthcare or long-term care Strong knowledge of GAAP and healthcare reimbursement models Proficiency in accounting software Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling capabilities Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities What We Offer Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Professional development opportunities A mission-driven culture focused on care and compassion
