Position Summary
The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders. This position plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence by maintaining order accuracy, meeting shipping deadlines, and supporting overall warehouse efficiency. Secondary responsibilities include receiving inbound materials, material handling, inventory control, stocking, and general warehouse support activities.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Available Shift Schedules
Candidates must be available to work one of the following schedules:
- Friday - Monday: Four 10-hour shifts
- Tuesday - Saturday: Five 8-hour shifts
- Sunday - Thursday: Five 8-hour shifts
Specific shifts start and end times will be discussed during the interview process.
Primary Responsibilities
Order Picking, Packing & Shipping (Primary Function)
- Accurately pick products and materials according to customer orders using packing slips.
- Verify product quantities, order numbers, and order accuracy before shipment.
- Properly pack products to ensure safe delivery and compliance with shipping requirements.
- Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and required documentation.
- Process shipments through various carrier systems (FedEx, LTL, etc.).
- Stage completed orders for outbound shipment.
- Meet daily productivity, quality, and shipping deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping work area.
Secondary Responsibilities
Receiving
- Receive, inspect, and verify inbound shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages to management.
- Quarantine of raw materials
Material Handling
- Move materials safely throughout the warehouse using approved material handling equipment(MHE).
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
- Transport inventory to designated storage or production areas.
Inventory Control
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper transactions and procedures.
Stocking & Replenishment
- Stock incoming materials and finished goods in assigned warehouse locations.
- Replenish picking locations to maintain efficient order fulfillment.
- Ensure products are properly labeled and stored according to company standards.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to accurately read and follow work instructions, shipping documents, and inventory records.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred
- Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, fulfillment, or distribution experience preferred.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment (MHE).
- Shipping experience with major carriers and online shipping platforms.
- Inventory control and cycle count experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull products weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, squat, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment when authorized and trained.
