Technical Writer/Maintenance Planner, Data CentersĀ 

What this job involves -Ā 

Technical Writer/Maintenance Planner role supports managing facilitiesmaintenance and associated maintenance labor by planning and scheduling for all maintenance and operations encompassed in the CMMS tool are to be conducted using current CMMS system application and standardized business processes.Ā This person will also be responsible for writing detailed and specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) for our team across multiple disciplines. These include electrical, mechanical, controls, and fire life safety.Ā 

What is your day to day?Ā 

Your day-to-day tasks will include -Ā 

  • Write clear, concise, and technical documents, including SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs, that are easy to understand and follow.Ā 

  • Optimizes maintenance inventory by balancing workload to labor availabilityĀ 

  • Complies with all client CMMS standards and specifications to ensure database integrity and standardizationĀ 

  • Manages asset maintenance parts ordering process (MRO) for assigned team(s) and optimizes efforts through PM Auto ordering where applicableĀ 

  • Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and develop accurate, comprehensive documentation.Ā 

  • Collects data and collaborates with operations team to optimize maintenance programs.Ā 

  • Maintains maintenance record compliance to CMMS and Maintenance business process standards and specs through periodic data auditingĀ 

  • Maintains liaison with facilities technicians and other management regarding work execution, necessity of altering schedules and manpower statusĀ 

  • Tracks all asset information, including spare parts and documentationĀ 

  • Arranges for special tools and equipmentĀ 

  • Tracks all asset information, including spare parts, documentation and Booked LaborĀ 

  • Continuous improvement of the work planning and scheduling process through the review and use of maintenance metrics, analysis of work order flow, project demands and expectations.Ā 

  • Submits and document database record changes using client CMMS change request systemĀ 

  • Regulate Critical Environment facility management services to prevent business impact and equipment downtime.Ā 

  • Establish objectives and processes required to maintain critical infrastructure at optimum performance.Ā 

  • Identify open, unscheduled and/or unassigned work by running prescribed work order query in Assignment ManagerĀ 

  • Provides weekly reports to facility managers, identify risks and gaps,to provideresolution plans.Ā 

  • Builds object structure in CMMS.Ā 

  • Develop/maintain and update standard operating procedures for CMMS/Storeroom operations.Ā 

Desired experience and technical skills -Ā 

Requirements:Ā 

  • Three (3) years of experience in facilities, requiring strict planning and scheduling protocols for operations and maintenance.Ā 

  • Experience in planning and scheduling the work of hourly employees using CMMS systemsĀ 

  • Experience writing technical documents, including SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs for a variety of industries.Ā 

  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems and equipmentĀ 

  • Client service-oriented attitudeĀ 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skillsĀ 

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skillsĀ 

  • Advanced computer skillsĀ 

  • Physical ability to traverse large jobsites in uneven terrain.Ā 

Preferred:Ā 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or managementĀ 

  • Experience with SQL or OracleĀ 

  • Experience with report writing or generating softwareĀ
