Key Responsibilities
Asynchronous Facilitation:Â Deliver high-quality instruction and engagement within the Canvas LMS, ensuring compliance with "Regular and Substantive Interaction" (RSI) standards.
Student Support: Provide timely feedback (typically within 48–72 hours) on assignments and respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.
Academic Integrity:Â Monitor and promote academic honesty in a digital environment, utilizing institutional tools to ensure rigorous standards.
Mission Integration:Â Foster a supportive, Christ-centered learning environment that encourages the spiritual and professional growth of undergraduate students.
Required Qualifications (Strictly Enforced)
Educational Background: A Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics from a regionally accredited institution.
Note: To meet specific accrediting agency requirements, the conferred degree must be in Mathematics (Pure, Applied, or Statistics). Degrees in Mathematics Education (M.Ed. or Ed.D.) will not be considered for this specific role.
Teaching Experience: Demonstrated success teaching in both traditional face-to-face and remote/online environments.
Mission Alignment: * Applicants must be a professing Christian who is active in their local church and community.
Must be able to articulate a commitment to the mission and identity of Abilene Christian University.
Preferred Skills
Experience with adult learners in an accelerated, asynchronous format.
Proficiency with Canvas LMS and online proctoring/math-software tools (e.g., MyMathLab, ALEKS).
Ability to translate complex mathematical concepts into digestible, "mobile-first" content.
