The IT Automation Engineer designs, develops, and supports automation solutions that enable reliable, scalable, and secure manufacturing IT operations within a semiconductor fabrication and/or assembly environment. This role partners closely with Manufacturing IT, Facilities, Equipment Engineering, and Operations teams to automate workflows across factory systems, improve operational efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and enhance system reliability in high‑availability environments.Â

Key Responsibilities:
Automation Design & DevelopmentÂ
Lead the design, build, and maintain automation solutions supporting semiconductor manufacturing systems (e.g., MES, SPC, FDC, equipment interfaces, infrastructure services).Â
Influences architecture decisions and automation strategy.Â
Develop scripts, workflows, and orchestration pipelines using automation technologies (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, CI/CD tools).Â
Integrate automation across IT and OT systems while maintaining security and compliance standards.Â
Acts as a technical resource or mentor to others.Â
Â
Manufacturing Systems EnablementÂ
Partner with Manufacturing IT and Operations to automate recurring tasks such as system provisioning, environment validation, monitoring, patching, and deployment.Â
Support factory automation initiatives that improve cycle time, yield, availability, or operational resilience.Â
Ensure automation aligns with fab change‑management, validation, and release processes.Â

Operational Excellence & ReliabilityÂ
Identify manual or error‑prone processes and propose automation opportunities to improve reliability and scalability.Â
Implement monitoring, alerting, and self‑healing mechanisms for critical systems.Â
Provide tier‑3 support and troubleshooting for automation‑related incidents.Â
Â
Security, Compliance & DocumentationÂ
Ensure automation adheres to cybersecurity, data integrity, and access control requirements typical of semiconductor manufacturing environments.Â
Produce and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and validation artifacts as required.Â
Participate in audits, incident reviews, and root‑cause analysis.Â
