Job Summary

This individual works closely with the Operating Unit General Manager by supporting activities of account specific resources. Ensures optimum compliance and efficiency for the WFS account(s) assigned. Effectively utilizes and professionally develops all WFS personnel and 3rd party vendors designated to account(s). 

Responsibilities

Maximizes profits by performing the following duties, personally or through subordinate managers.

  • Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal
  • guidelines and internal policies
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
  • Revise procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues
  • Draft, modify and implement company policies
  • Collaborate with corporate counsels and HR departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations
  • Assess the business' future ventures to identify possible compliance risks
  • Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
  • Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
  • Support operations as per assigned by Operating Unit General Manager

Minimum Requirements

  • HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
  • 1 year experience in related field preferred but not required

Preferred Skills

  • Must possess a detailed knowledge of the international cargo industry and regulatory compliance

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • Walk short distances.
  • Reach above and/or below shoulder.
  • Handle/grasp documents or office equipment.
  • Sit and/or stand for short or extended periods of time.
  • Lift/carry/move objects, files and documents up to 10 pounds.
  • Work in an office environment using standard office equipment.
  • Talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
