At Haynes and Boone, our people are the driving force behind our success. Because we value the role every individual plays in how we deliver exceptional legal services, we hire people who will contribute to our professional reputation, enhance client relationships and share in our success.

Haynes and Boone is one of the largest law firms in Dallas, and it continues to grow. In 2023, Haynes and Boone moved its headquarters to a new 27-story office tower in the Harwood District of uptown Dallas. Lawyers in our Dallas office serve all the firm’s practice and industry areas – including corporate, litigation, banking/finance, insurance law, healthcare law, labor and employment, estate planning, real estate, bankruptcy, intellectual property, white collar crime, and antitrust. Our Dallas lawyers are widely recognized in their practice areas in publications such as The Best Lawyers in America directory (Woodward/White, Inc.) and the Chambers USA legal directory (Chambers & Partners). This office attracts high-energy, technically proficient people who enjoy working in a collegial environment. We are committed to having an inclusive workforce that reflects our communities, and we seek highly motivated lawyers and staff who value our culture of respect and teamwork.

This exempt position owns the delivery and long-term success of a portfolio of attorney- and practice-facing technology platforms. The primary focus is on document automation tools and IP AI platforms, with additional responsibility for practice-specific GenAI workflow support and the ability to flex into future Innovation and Knowledge Management (KM) tools as the firm’s roadmap evolves. Working at the intersection of attorneys, engineering, KM, IT, and vendors, the Product Owner translates practice needs into secure, scalable solutions, drives disciplined prioritization and delivery, and ensures adoption, governance, and measurable value.

Portfolio Scope

  • Primary ownership: document automation tools (templates, workflow automation) and IP AI platforms supporting drafting, prosecution, and practice workflows.

  • Secondary ownership: Harvey workflow build-out and enhancement work, in coordination with the internal Harvey product owner and broader AI governance.

  • As-needed support: future Innovation and KM tools (pilots, evaluations, intake, rollout support) as priorities shift.

Essential Duties:

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for assigned platforms: intake, roadmap, backlog, delivery, rollout, and long-term support.

  • Maintain clear product artifacts (roadmaps, backlogs, release plans, and master idea tracking) and align priorities with firm strategy, practice needs, risk posture, and capacity constraints.

  • Partner with attorneys, practice groups, and KM professionals to identify high-value use cases, map workflows, and translate requirements into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Work with engineering on solution design, feasibility, scope, and delivery plans; manage work through agile practices (grooming, planning, stand-ups, UAT, feedback loops, and iteration).

  • Drive adoption through targeted enablement: training, documentation, reference materials, and practice-specific rollout plans; focus on sustained usage, not just deployment.

  • Monitor and report on product performance and impact using KPIs such as adoption, usage, time saved, data quality, user satisfaction, and downstream business outcomes.

  • Ensure solutions comply with firm policies and controls (data security, access permissions, ethical walls, confidentiality, and GenAI governance where applicable).

  • Coordinate with IT and vendors on platform performance, incident response, maintenance, enhancements, and roadmap alignment; manage vendor issues and training opportunities.

  • Support cross-portfolio initiatives such as data capture, structured content, and integrations that improve reuse, search, automation, analytics, and AI readiness.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Working knowledge of GenAI-enabled workflows and the operational controls needed in a law firm environment (security, confidentiality, and governance).

  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams and translating stakeholder needs into implementable requirements.

Skills:

  • Ability to translate legal practice needs into clear product requirements, workflows, and user-facing solutions.

  • Strong prioritization and delivery discipline; comfortable operating across multiple products with shifting priorities.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across attorneys, KM, IT, and vendors.

  • Data-driven approach to adoption, engagement, and value measurement.

  • Strong judgment and risk awareness; able to apply consistent standards for access, security, and compliance.
