The Role

T1 Energy is seeking a detail-oriented IPQA Tech 1 to join our Module Quality Assurance team. In this role, you will be stationed directly on the advanced manufacturing floor, serving as a critical line of defense ensuring that all photovoltaic products meet our rigorous internal and international quality standards. You will monitor in-process production steps, identify component defects, and execute real-time audits within our high-volume, automated facility. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses a keen eye for technical irregularities, and is eager to support continuous improvement workflows alongside our production and engineering teams.

Who You Are

  • In-Process Inspection: Conduct rigorous, scheduled quality checks at key manufacturing milestones (e.g., cell stringing, lamination, framing, and final packaging) to ensure compliance with strict engineering specifications.

  • Defect Identification & Isolation: Actively identify, document, and report raw material anomalies, cosmetic defects, or structural variations on the line; immediately initiate containment protocols for non-conforming materials.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with production operators, shift supervisors, and equipment technicians to quickly address deviations from standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Data Logging & Traceability: Maintain flawless, real-time records of all quality audits, inspections, and measurements within our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and localized tracking software.

  • Audit & Procedure Support: Assist Quality Engineers in executing internal product and process audits, and contribute feedback toward the development and optimization of standard quality control procedures.

  • Safety & Cleanliness: Adhere strictly to cleanroom, PPE, and manufacturing safety protocols to ensure a safe, organized, and compliant testing environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in a technical or scientific discipline preferred.

  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in a quality control, assurance, or inspection role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment (advanced electronics, semiconductor, automotive, or photovoltaic experience highly preferred).

  • Technical Aptitude: Strong attention to detail with the ability to read technical specifications, use basic measurement tools, and identify subtle component defects.

  • Systems & Software: Experience utilizing manufacturing software (such as SAP, MES platforms, or localized ERP systems) and basic Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel) to log data.

  • Quality Standards: Familiarity with precision manufacturing quality standards (such as ISO 9001) is a strong plus.

  • Core Attributes: Strong verbal and written communication skills to report technical failures accurately under pressure; ability to adapt to tight manufacturing deadlines.
