Job DetailsJob Location: Dallas Regional Chamber - Dallas, TX 75201Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $55,000.00 SalaryTravel Percentage: Up to 25%Job Shift: DayThe Role The Public Policy team works with local, state and federal elected officials and agencies to advocate for pro-growth policies that strategically manage the Region’s growth while maintaining a high quality of life for all. The Coordinator is responsible for supporting the DRC and its Public Policy team with policy research, event planning and coordination of activities and communications to DRC members and partners and other administrative duties. This role will also support the DRC’s Public Policy team with events as required.   Reporting Structure This individual will report directly to the Vice President of Public Policy and assist with overall operations of this team.   Our Guiding Principles Our guiding principles underpin everything we do. Teamwork: We play a team sport, working together to achieve common goals, making sure our teammates feel valued and included, and cheering each other on along the way.   Key Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The duties and responsibilities include the following, though other duties may be assigned. Lead the coordination of all DRC Public Policy events, including signature luncheons, council meetings, and other related events. Assist with the organization and implementation of our signature events, such as Congressional Forum, State of the Region, our Power Hour Series and other programmatic events addressing policy issues. Provide administrative support for the DRC’s Public Policy initiatives and programmatic efforts by facilitating communications and engagement within DRC members and community partners, including elected officials and staff members. Support the Public Policy team in appropriate policy initiatives, conducting research, monitoring legislation, and maintaining an awareness of current local, state and federal political issues. Provide back-up support for the front desk, greeting and directing all visitors to meeting rooms, answering phones in a timely manner and taking messages or directing calls to the appropriate destination. Support data input and maintain CRM database to ensure information about DRC members and constituents is accurate. Provide administrative and special project support, as assigned. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree or two years’ professional experience in an applicable field (such as education, workforce, public policy, or event planning). Professional and comprehensive experience in an applicable field and/or with an organization that is similar in mission and activities to the DRC.   Physical Requirements  The physical requirements and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
