About the Team

Copart, Inc. (NASDAQ: CPRT) is a global leader in online vehicle auctions and remarketing services, connecting vehicle sellers to millions of buyers in over 185 countries. While we are an S&P 500 powerhouse with a market cap exceeding $40 billion, our Product Design team operates with the agility and spirit of a startup.

We are an execution-focused group dedicated to driving outcomes, not academic exercises. We work backwards from the customer, competing with our own benchmarks to rebuild current experiences and expand into adjacent businesses. If you are a builder who values clear communication, deep analysis, and aggressive execution, you will thrive here.

Role Overview

Copart is seeking a Product Designer I to drive design execution within defined product areas supporting our core business initiatives. In this role, you will translate complex business requirements into intuitive, accessible, and aesthetically strong user experiences. You will act as a key partner to product managers and engineers, framing business problems in user-centered terms and ensuring design intent leads directly to measurable outcomes. You will be responsible for synthesizing insights, refining interactions based on feedback loops, and ensuring our products meet a high bar for craft and usability.

This role is best suited for designers who excel at executing within defined product scopes and collaborating closely with product and engineering partners, rather than owning end-to-end design strategy for large product areas. It is focused on delivering high-quality design solutions within an established product strategy, rather than setting broad design direction independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visual & Interaction Design:
    • Create high-quality, accessible UI and proactively test for usability concerns.
    • Refine interactions based on user behavior and feedback cycles, ensuring polished execution.
    • Apply visual and interaction design principles to craft intuitive user experiences.
    • Create high-quality, accessible UI deliverables (e.g., flows, wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready designs)
  • Customer Insight & Discovery:
    • Synthesize insights from multiple sources to define user needs and key use cases.
    • Plan and conduct basic usability testing and discovery sessions in partnership with product managers.
    • Deeply understand the needs of our customers through quantitative and qualitative inputs.
  • Business Alignment:
    • Consider business impact and tradeoffs when proposing design solutions.
    • Tie design intent to defined outcomes and success measures.
  • Systems & Collaboration:
    • Participate in and help facilitate design critiques and build trust with cross-functional peers (Engineering, Product, Legal) to enable delivery and resolve blockers.
    • Identify reusable patterns and propose improvements to our design system in partnership with Design leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 2-4 years of product design or UX design experience.
  • Portfolio: An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating relevant experience in shipping high-quality digital products.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma), including user flows and interactive prototypes.
  • Accessibility: Working familiarity with ADA Standards and WCAG guidelines.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate abstract design concepts visually and verbally in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Agility: Ability to operate strategically at 20,000 feet while managing execution at the 20-centimeter level.
