POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Shipping Associate is responsible for overseeing day-to-day pick and ship operations, including workload balancing, required reporting, and customer quality control.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Accurately enter, edit and look up order information using GTS MAS200Â
- Accurately enter, edit and look up shipping information in UPS system
- Pick, pack and prepare orders for shipping with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
- Oversee day-to-day pick and pack workflow and volume, including selecting outbound shipping
- Pick, pack and prepare large customer orders (LTL) for shipping with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
- Monitor pick and pack quality, identifying and resolving issues or errors prior to shipping orders
- Lead 5S efforts related to packing and shippingÂ
- Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory of shipping supplies
- Any tasks deemed necessary by management to run the operation safely and effectively
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three years’ distribution experience.
- Lean Six Sigma yellow-belt certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 3 months.
- Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of warehouse associates to ensure that daily tasks are completed in a timely and effective manner.
- Strong computer and data entry skills, including warehouse/inventory software and shipping & receiving software applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to safely operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment, including obtaining appropriate licenses as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS |
- Normal warehouse environment with moderate noise levels from warehouse equipment.
- Frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting of up to 70 lbs.
- Constant standing, walking, bending, twisting and reaching.Â
