OEI (O'Brien Engineering & Architecture) is seeking a full-time Water Resources Engineer Technical Lead with 12+ years of experience to join our team. This position will collaborate with a multidisciplinary A/E team and will work on municipal, land development, private, industrial, healthcare, military/defense, and other projects. Subject Matter Expertise on engineering projects that are largely water resources focused including civil, hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling and analysis. Ability to conceptualize, scope, and manage a variety of drainage and flood related projects including master flood studies, master drainage studies, comprehensive watershed studies, bank stabilization, storm drainage remediation, hydraulic analysis of bridges, culverts, channels, flumes, energy dissipation analysis; dam break analysis a plus.

  • Developing project scope; supporting invoicing, budgeting, scheduling, managing, documenting.
  • Using ArcGIS and related tools to compile and individualize maps for each project.
  • Collecting data through various databases for use in determining model parameters.
  • Hydrologic, hydraulic, hydrodynamic and 2D modeling.
  • Watershed mapping and inundation mapping.
  • Preparing and presenting project findings to clients and other external groups, in support of project objectives and deliverables.
  • Preparing reports and directing staff in preparing graphics for reports.
  • Preparing submittals for permit applications; communication with agencies to address RFIs and clarifications.
  • Supervising and training junior staff.
  • Professional Registration: Texas PE or ability to obtain Texas registration within 12 months.
  • Minimum three days a week in-office.
  • BS in Civil Engineering. MS in Civil Engineering with Water Resources or similar concentration is a plus.
