Techniplas has long-term relationships with many of the world’s leading automotive and industrial OEMs. SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Tooling Technicina will maintain injection molds and secondary equipment. JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Builds or repairs fixtures, racks, conveyors, automation equipment, and/or other assets. Positions, aligns, fits and welds together parts to make assembled equipment and products. Sets up, operates, and maintains safety of tool room machines, such as; mills, grinders and drill presses. Designs and constructs templates and fixtures. Develops layouts and plans for sequence of operations and the application of fabricated assets. Machines work pieces by use of machines and hand tools. Keeps machines clean and reports any oil, water, or safety concerns to Supervisor Maintains good housekeeping throughout department and work areas. Safely operates a forklift and overhead crane. Spots and fits parting lines and shutoffs of injection molds. Follow standard operating procedures to ensure proper quality of work and efficiency. Training needs are based on Techniplas’ ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 training matrix for this position. Overtime may be assigned. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES): Experience in mold building and repair, and/or Journeyman’s card.     CNC machine knowledge. Basic computer skills. Blueprint reading knowledge is required. Capable of running manual tool room equipment and hand tools. Successful completion of an apprentice program with a licensed professional or established company required. On-the job training available. Tool and diemaker certification required or 10 years of working in an injection mold environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment. Working understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra. Thorough understanding of metallic properties. Ability to work independently, and with engineers and machinists.
