What You'll Do

As a Dental Surgical Assistant, you'll play an essential role throughout the patient's surgical journey—from their initial consultation through surgery and post-operative care. You'll work closely with our surgeons, prosthodontists, and clinical team to ensure every patient receives an exceptional experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcome new patients during consultations and help create a warm, professional first impression.

• Build genuine rapport with patients while educating, supporting, and guiding them through treatment.

• Assist oral surgeons and prosthodontists during full-arch implant surgeries, extractions, bone grafting, sedation procedures, and restorative appointments.

• Prepare treatment rooms and surgical suites while maintaining the highest standards of sterilization and infection control.

• Set up and break down surgical procedures efficiently and accurately.

• Take high-quality digital radiographs, CBCT scans, intraoral scans, clinical photographs, and impressions.

• Review treatment plans with patients and assist in obtaining informed consent, ensuring consent forms are complete, accurate, and all patient questions are answered.

• Accurately document clinical procedures, treatment details, and patient interactions while maintaining thorough, organized, and legally compliant records.

• Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment while helping create a calm, reassuring experience.

• Deliver clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions and provide compassionate follow-up care.

• Support same-day prosthetic workflows and collaborate with laboratory partners when needed.

• Maintain inventory, stock surgical supplies, and ensure operatories remain organized and procedure-ready.

• Collaborate with doctors and teammates to deliver a seamless patient experience.

• Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail in every aspect of patient care, documentation, surgical preparation, and infection control.

• Perform additional clinical duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program.

• Current California Dental X-Ray Certification.

• Current CPR/BLS Certification.

• Proficiency in four-handed dentistry.

• Strong understanding of OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, sterilization, and disinfection protocols.

• Experience taking digital radiographs and dental impressions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

• Ability to accurately complete clinical documentation and patient records.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oral surgery assisting experience.

• Experience assisting with IV sedation and/or general anesthesia.

• Experience with CBCT imaging and digital scanning technology.

• Open Dental experience.
