The Spire network spans the Northeast with more than 165 physicians, 1,800 employees, 285 other clinical providers and 40 locations in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.    What you’ll do: The Medical Assistant is responsible for rooming patients, documenting medical history / chief complaints, collecting vitals if necessary, communicating follow-up information with patient and provider, and otherwise generally assisting the provider within the MA scope of practice.  Candidates must have exceptional customer service skills, a positive communication style and the ability to problem-solve effectively. Multi-tasking with a high degree of accuracy is essential to providing safe, high quality patient care. At least 1 to 2 years of experience working in an outpatient clinic setting is strongly preferred. National certification as registered medical assistant preferred.      Responsibilities/Duties: Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Collects detailed and accurate patient history.  Prepares and maintains exam rooms with necessary instruments, equipment and supplies.  Follows up with patient on physicians current patient care notes or instructions.  Provides general assistance, education and information to patient questions.  Performs post-operative wound care, suture removal, dressing change, cast removal, cast application and splint application.  Assists physicians in setup and performance of medical procedures under the direction of physician or nurse manager.  Maintains DME supplies.  Responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality.  Prepares, cleans and stocks examination rooms. Assures surfaces are clear and puts away any articles that were left out and replenishes missing stock in drawers and cabinets.  Unpacks new supply deliveries and stores away items as directed.  Assists members of clinical support staff and physicians with all duties as necessary and appropriate. (includes patient care, post-op phone follow-up calls and other patient phone calls, medication updates)  Documents all phone calls and actions appropriately in EMR.  Identifies OSHA issues and communicates for correction.  Follows all HIPAA regulations as instructed.  Follows ONS policies and procedures.  Performs other duties/projects as assigned.  QualificationsWho you are: General knowledge of office procedures and computer systems.  Strong interpersonal and customer service skills  Ability to handle high stress, busy work environment.  Knowledge of Word & Outlook Required.  Orthopedic and/or casting experience preferred.  Knowledge of GE Centricity a plus.  Professional, and articulate phone skills.  Knowledge of medical terminology.  Strong organizational skills  Ability to work as part of a team  Medical Assistant Certification preferred  High School Diploma or equivalent  Medical Assistant diploma    What we offer:   Excellent growth and advancement opportunities   Dynamic environment   Access to a diverse network of practitioners   Broad infrastructure of tools and programs to enhance the employee experience      Competitive Compensation   Generous PTO    Benefits package: health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.     We are an equal-opportunity employer.
