This position serves our customers by hand-building pallets of product and loading product onto trailers according to established company and customer standards. Responsibilities include reading pick sheets and traveling to proper warehouse locations using a pallet jack; picking proper product type and quantity, labeling products, placing on pallets, and loading pallets on trucks according to proper zone, location, and standards; handling products and building pallets according to food safety procedures; maintaining warehouse cleanliness and safety; communicating with management regarding issues; operating warehouse equipment safely; reporting equipment issues; completing paperwork and using wearable computers for productivity tracking; working assigned schedules with regular attendance and overtime as needed; and other duties as assigned. Qualifications include a high school diploma/GED or equivalent, 6 months warehouse experience preferred or equivalent work experience, forklift and pallet jack certification, knowledge of safe lifting and food safety guidelines, skills in building pallets quickly and safely, ability to operate equipment and maneuver in tight areas, meeting productivity levels, English communication skills, basic math skills, problem-solving, and wearing personal protective equipment. Physical demands include standing, walking, handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting 50-90 pounds, and specific vision abilities. Work environment includes exposure to hot, cold, humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, and loud noise.
