About Our Opportunity 

Seeking a 2nd shift Production Supervisor who effectively manages all aspects of the production area on the assigned shift, which can include helium filling, balloon production, and napkin production 

Responsibilities

    • Leads the team to meet expected production goals.
    • Effectively controls inventory, including inbound raw material and outbound finished goods.
    • Ensures product consistently meets established quality control standards.
    • Develops, monitors, and maintains departmental standards and costs. 
    • Develops, executes, and revises departmental SOPs to enhance quality, quantity, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
    • Maintains records necessary for the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely reports.
    • Complete and update work orders in JDE as required.
    • Work with maintenance to ensure production equipment is maintained and operational to meet demands.
    • Interacts with all areas of the department to understand issues and assess needs to improve consistency and integrity of processes. 
    • Responsible for daily management and supervision of departmental workforce, including providing direction, setting deadlines, and resolving problems.  Administers corrective action         according to company guidelines.  
    • Works with Human Resources to interview, select, and train employees to fill vacant positions. 
    • Annually prepares performance evaluations for departmental staff.
    • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills.   Stays current with developments within the manufacturing and distribution field and shares expertise with others.
    •  Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
    • A commitment to company-wide quality and safety is required.
    • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.  

 

 Qualifications: 

  • Ability to communicate with management, colleagues, line staff, and individuals outside the company in order to meet departmental goals. 
  • Strong analytical skills with a methodological approach to problem solving and implementation.  
  • Effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas, and/or facts and recommendations effectively. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret related documents.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint. 
  • Ability to manage groups through project implementation.
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.
  • High school diploma or its equivalent required; undergraduate degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment is required; 3 or more years strongly preferred.
  • Prior management experience required.
