Responsible for supervising the daily operation of the Security Department
Responsibilities
Acts as Commander in the absence of Security Manager Â
Supports Security manager in daily operations, ensures compliance of policies & procedures, ensures manpower & equipment meet daily requirements. Â
Reviews schedules, reports, etc & makes necessary adjustments. Â
Inspects Officer’s appearance, abilities, attitude & compliance’s with standards. Â
Ensures training of all officers ensures safety standards & prepares all appropriate reports. Â
Conducts daily post checks, monitors manpower status board, takes corrective action regarding complaints. Â
Assist Security manager in preparation of evaluations & makes recommendations. Â
Reviews, recommends or initiates appropriate action on those who fail to comply with policy, procedures or rules. Â
Acts as on scene Commander for all major incidents Â
Advises management of all pertinent info regarding shift or department Â
Responsible for safety & protection of the Casino, employees & guests Â
Qualifications
High school diploma preferred Â
5 years of law enforcement or military experience preferred. Â
Some casino security experience preferred. Â
3 years supervisory experience preferred. Â
Strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills Â
Strong analytical, oral and written skills Â
Effective communication (written, verbal and presentation) Â
Must be able to obtain a Virginia Gaming License from the VA Lottery.  Â
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record Â
Must be at least 21 years of ageÂ
Â
Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Â
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Â
Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke. Â
Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance according to schedule. Â
Able to walk, work and stand, inside and outside, occasionally in heat in excess of 115 degrees or cold in excess of 10 degrees.   Â
Able to physically restrain adults in excess of 200 pounds.  Â
Able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations.  Â
Able to work independently.  Â
Able to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip and carry heavy loads and maneuver quickly on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.  Â
Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.  Â
Must be able to push or pull up to 150 pounds.  Â
Able to respond to visual and aural cues.  Â
Able to see and also remember the specific details of incidents and persons.  Â
Must be able to make rational decisions when handling guests and employees.  Â
Ability to tolerate area’s containing secondary smoke. Â
Must be able to bend, twist, turn, squat and rotate body. Â
Must be able to lift above the head occasionally. Â
Run on level surfaces, as well as, up and down stairs. Â
Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations. Â
Wage: $24.00 an hour
