This position serves our customers by hand-building pallets of product and loading product onto trailers according to established company and customer standards. Responsibilities include reading pick sheets and traveling to proper warehouse locations using a pallet jack; picking proper product type and quantity, labeling products, placing on pallets, and loading pallets on trucks according to proper zone, location, and established standards; handling products and building pallets according to established food safety procedures; ensuring the warehouse is maintained cleanly and safely; communicating with management regarding any issues; operating all company warehouse equipment safely; reporting equipment issues; completing paperwork and utilizing a wearable computer to track time for productivity reporting; working assigned schedule with regular attendance and overtime as needed; and other duties as assigned. Qualifications include a high school diploma/GED or equivalent, 6 months of previous warehouse experience preferred or equivalent work experience, forklift and pallet jack certification, knowledge of safe lifting and food safety guidelines, skill in building pallets quickly and safely, ability to operate forklift and pallet jack, meet productivity levels, read/write/communicate in English, perform basic math, solve problems, and wear personal protective equipment. Physical demands include standing, walking, using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and regularly lifting/moving 50-90 pounds. Work environment includes exposure to hot, cold, humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, and loud noise.
