Job DetailsJob Location: Todd Grant Elementary - Darien, GA 31305Position Type: Part TimeEducation Level: High SchoolJob Shift: DayJob Category: Afterschool ProgramsGENERAL SUMMARY  The YBASE Site Coordinator is responsible for the leadership, guidance, support and supervision of children ages 4-14 years of age in the day-to-day operation of the YBASE Program.  In addition, every position in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES Must engage actively while interacting with and supervising groups of children indoors and outdoors. Plans, schedules and implements curriculum to group in coordination with the Program Director to include setting up interest centers and gross motor equipment and activities indoors and outdoors. Maintaining daily attendance reports, assigned records and other routine clerical tasks including supply and material ordering. Coordinating the transition of supervision between school day and parent pickup. To include ensuring children are properly signed in out of the program and, if being transported by the YMCA, maintain accurate transportation records. If assigned to transportation duties, ensure all state requirements are met including proper supervision and maintaining accurate bus logs and checklists.  Greet and integrate participants into the program and prepares children for parent pick up by assisting them with gathering supplies and signing in and out of the program. Performs general housekeeping tasks to include sanitizing and disinfecting YBASE areas and supplies to maintain health and safety standards. Distribute snacks and meals in accordance with the regulations set forth by Second Harvest and the YMCA including maintaining accurate meal counts. Submits snack counts and attendance to Second Harvest and cafeteria manager. Upholds YMCA standards of professionalism in conduct, dress, and decorum.  Treats participants, families and staff with fairness, dignity and respect including but not limited to tone and all verbal communication. Responsible for all legal caregivers/guardian communication including developmental or behavioral challenges. Implementing Quality Rated practices and holding staff accountable according to Quality Rated and state licensing standards including meeting teacher : participant ratios. Participates in program feedback initiatives and participates in family engagement events.  Appropriately receives feedback from supervisors and state and YMCA audits and makes changes accordingly. Responsible for maintaining accurate files for staff and participants including an understanding of CORE and collection of immunization records. Required to report suspicions of child abuse and or neglect as a Mandated Reporter and provide documentation. Attends all staff meetings and in-service training programs as directed. Provides staff development including action plans and disciplinary action notices as well as participates in the hiring of new staff when asked by leadership team. Ensures YBASE policies and procedures are followed by self and staff, supervise staff and volunteers. Maintains state and YMCA training hour requirements annually. Performs other duties as assigned. Assist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer service. Assist in the Annual Campaign fundraising program for the YMCA. Any mistreatment or abuse by an employee or volunteer will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or volunteer service and cooperation with law enforcement. This organization takes every allegation of abuse or misconduct seriously and will fully cooperate with the authorities to investigate all cases of alleged abuse or misconduct. Employees and volunteers shall cooperate with any external investigation by outside authorities or internal investigation conducted by the organization or persons given investigative authority by the organization. An employee or volunteer’s failure to cooperate with an investigation will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment or dismissal from the organization.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Intermediate understanding of current child development principles and appropriate developmental practice. Experience in working with school age children. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and fingerprint check in accordance with Bright from the Start Licensing requirements. Intermediate understanding of computer technology and ability to learn new systems.   CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS CPR and First Aid required within 90 days of employment. 18 Bright From the Start approved training hours trainings per year must be achieved and maintained. If assigned to transportation responsibilities, maintain the state required transportation safety training.   EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Childcare Development Associates (CDA), Technical College Certificate (TCC) in early childhood education or related field, or Bachelor Degree. Qualifying experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
