Overview

Shift: Monday–Friday, with required availability between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, plus rotating weekends

 

Be part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team delivering impactful Occupational Therapy care across Acute Care, Transitional Care, and Inpatient Rehab settings. As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, you’ll work with patients of all ages, provide education to patients and families, document care in the electronic medical record, participate in team conferences, and help mentor OTA students and Rehab Aides - all while making a meaningful difference every day.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Occupational Therapy interventions in accordance with established standards of care, policies, procedures, and state/federal law.  Adjustment of splints, therapeutic garments, and adaptive equipment.  
  • Participate in patient care conferences/ staffing as appropriate.  Acute care- Complex Care meeting.  Transitional Care Unit- Patient staffing.  Supervise and complete appropriate documentation for Occupational Therapy Assistant students as assigned by CCCE. 
  • Complete documentation in electronic medical record in a timely manner in accordance within department and professional expectations demonstrating the need for skilled interventions.    
  • Monitor and document patient progress, responses to treatment, and outcomes.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic treatment environment.

  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and adaptive strategies.

  • Comply with all state, federal, and facility regulations, policies, and ethical standards.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Certificate or Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.   

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Current IA and IL COTA (or eligible). 
  • Current CPR certification. 
  • NBCOT National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy within 60 days of hire
