The Pines at Davidson is hiring a Lead Cook to create innovative, delicious meals for a high-end dining experience. The Lead Cook supports the daily culinary operations of The Pines at Davidson by leading food production activities, ensuring quality and consistency, and providing day-to-day guidance to culinary team members. The Lead Cook reports directly to the Sous Chef and assists in delivering exceptional dining experiences for residents, team members, guests and vendors. Who you are Experience Previous experience as a Cook, Lead Cook, or similar culinary position. Experience in senior living, hospitality, healthcare, restaurant, or club dining preferred. Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety regulations. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. SERV Safe Certification preferred or ability to obtain. High School Diploma ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Lead daily food preparation and production activities during assigned shifts. Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines. Ensure quality, consistency, and timeliness of meal service. Assist with special events, catering functions, and resident programs. Support proper food handling, storage, labeling, and sanitation procedures. Monitor production levels and communicate inventory needs to the Sous Chef, and Executive Chef. Assist with training new culinary team members on recipes, procedures, and service standards. Serve as a shift leader when assigned and provide directions to cooks and kitchen support team members. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (AS DETERMINED USING WORKSHEET): (Include Vision, Language, Hearing, Range of Motion, Lifting Capacity, Sitting/Standing, etc.) Must have good or corrected vision Must be able to endure prolonged periods of standing, reaching, stooping Must be able to endure temperature changes in walk-in cooler, walk-in freezer and meal service over steam tables Must be able to touch/serve, fish and shellfish Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
