We are looking for an experienced Director of Manufacturing to work closely with the CEO and COO to scale and operate a world-class manufacturing operation. This is an opportunity to come in on the ground floor of a very fast-growing company with a dynamic and passionate team working on next generation wireless technology.

The Director of Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead and manage operations of Elve's factories producing mmWave power amplifiers
  • Take responsibility for product manufacturing and testing and KPIs to meet throughput and cost goals through the optimization and efficient operation of manufacturing processes.
  • Drive yield improvement and cost reductions in close cooperation with the engineering team
  • Design and stand up new production lines
  • At the appropriate time, implement manufacturing systems (e.g. MES)
  • Maintain ISO9001 certification and quality systems

Required Qualifications

  • BS in engineering, a STEM field, business, or similar
  • 10+ years of experience leading manufacturing operations & production planning
  • 5+ years managing people
  • Proven track record of scaling production of complex technology products
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 best practices
  • Experience operating a manufacturing facility and scaling the production of complex technology products to medium or high volumes
  • Impeccable organization and communication skills
  • Eagerness and ability to be onsite at Elve's factories in Davis, CA 5 days/week

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ultra-high vacuum systems, RF and mmWave products, and working in high-volume, automated, tight-tolerance, and high cleanliness environments.
  • Experience working in fast-moving venture-backed companies
  • Experience designing and implementing data architectures, physical AI, and data + physical automation for manufacturing
