The Associate Respiratory Care Manager – Nights is a formal leadership role responsible for the overnight operational oversight of Respiratory Care services across assigned care areas. This role provides direct supervision, coaching, and performance management of respiratory staff during night shift and serves as the primary leadership presence during nights.
The Associate Manager supports departmental goals, policies, and initiatives established by Respiratory Care leadership and ensures safe, high-quality, and consistent patient care during nights. This position reports directly to the designated Respiratory Care Manager and works in close partnership with Respiratory, physicians, nursing, and other stakeholders.
Fiscal Responsibilities (if applicable): Associate Respiratory Manager provides input and recommendation into department budget to support delivery of cost effective care. Communicates rationale for financial decisions and supports ideas for cost effective operations. Manages systems to ensure effective utilization of staff and resources. Promotes services.
Education
Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree

Type of degree: Bachelor’s degree preferred
Area of study or major: Healthcare administration or other leadership field or a preferred Bachelors in Respiratory Care
Preferred educational qualifications: Bachelors in Respiratory Care or Health Care Administration or Organizational Improvement

Licensure/Certification/Registration
Valid Ohio Respiratory Care license, Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist credential through the NBRC.
Current BLS CPR certification
ACLS certification
PALS certification
AARC member – recommended
ACCS credential – optional
NRP – optional
Non-violent crisis prevention within 6 months of hire.
Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 3 - 5 years of job related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Prior specific functional responsibilities: Critical Care expertise in all areas or with all similar functions as defined by the area.
Preferred experience: Previous supervisory experience is recommended
Other experience requirements: Demonstrated participation or leadership in performance improvement initiatives. Participation and/or leadership in new equipment implementation. Participation in Interdisciplinary care activities.
