Department: Clinical Education with Premier System Float Pool (ED Float Nurses and Safety Companions) & Freestanding EDs
Facility: Miami Valley Hospital
Shift: Full-time/ Generally M-F 5am-9pm/ 80 Hours Per Pay

The Nursing Professional Development RN (Practitioner) (NPDP) – Care Site is a registered nurse (RN) with nursingÂ
professional development practice judgement and expertise who influences professional role competence and growthÂ
of learners in a variety of settings with a desired outcome of improved population health. This individual will supportÂ
the care-sites by coordinating professional development needs in collaboration with the departmental leadership,Â
system NPD Specialists, System Nurse Manager for Clinical Education, and the Learning Institute. The roles of theÂ
Nursing Professional Development RN (Practitioner) include:
Learning Facilitator, Change Agent, Mentor, Leader, Champion for Inquiry, Partner for Practice Transitions, andÂ
Advocate for NPD specialty. In addition, the individual may provide direct patient care in accordance with the clinicalÂ
nurse role.Â
Responsibilities of this individual include Onboarding/Orientation, Competency Management, Education, RoleÂ
Development, Collaborative Partnerships, & Inquiry.Â
The primary outputs of the NPD practice include learning, change, and professional role competence and growth.Â
Through collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization and ongoing environment scanning practices,Â
the Professional Development RN (Practitioner) (NPDP) – Care Site is accountable for compliance with the OhioÂ
Nurse Practice Act, applicable regulatory standards, ANPD scope and standards, institutional policies, proceduresÂ
and supporting the organization in strategic outcome attainment established from strategic plans.
Education
Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree
Additional requirements:
â–ª Type of degree: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
â–ª Area of study or major: NursingÂ
â–ª Preferred educational qualifications: N/A
â–ª Position specific testing requirement: N/A
Licensure/Certification/Registration
â–ª Current CPR certification
â–ª Valid RN Licensure in the State of Ohio
â–ª ACLS, PALS, based on service line/specialty requirements
â–ª Specialty certification or NPD certification within three years of hire
Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: Registered Nurse, Educator, Faculty in area of specialty
Prior specific functional responsibilities: N/A
Preferred experience: 1 or more years of clinical precepting/teaching experience
Other experience requirements: N/A
