Overview

CreekTech is seeking an experienced IT System Administrator to lead enterprise IT operations, cybersecurity governance, and technology strategy in support of corporate objectives and government contracting requirements.

The IT System Administrator oversees on-premises and tenant cloud infrastructure, end-user computing, identity and access management, and network services, working closely with executive leadership and internal stakeholders to align technology capabilities with mission objectives and safeguard company and customer data. The IT Manager is responsible for establishing and enforcing IT and cybersecurity policies, supporting audits and assessments, and translating regulatory requirements into effective technical controls

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Establish, implement, and enforce IT and cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry best practices and regulatory frameworks.
    • Coordinate and support internal audits, external assessments, and security reviews, including preparation of documentation, evidence, and corrective actions.
    • Oversee incident response planning and execution, including detection, containment, investigation, recovery, and post-incident improvement.
    • Maintain alignment with NIST 800-171 / CMMC Level 2 through policy implementation, technical controls, documentation, and continuous improvement.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop IT staff and/or managed service partners to ensure accountability, performance, and professional growth.

 

Infrastructure, Systems & Cloud Oversight

  • Windows and directory services (Active Directory / Azure AD)
  • Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive)
  • Network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless)
  • NAS and cloud storage platforms
  • PBX / VoIP systems and wired security systems
  • Ensure consistent patching, system hardening, monitoring, and configuration management across the enterprise.
  • Design and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies to reduce operational risk.

End-User Computing & Service Delivery

  • Ensure effective and responsive Tier I / Tier II IT support for internal users, including workstation deployment, device management, and troubleshooting.
  • Standardize and improve end-user device security, configuration baselines, and lifecycle management.

IT Asset, Vendor & Financial Management

  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventories, lifecycle planning, and secure disposal processes.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, managed service providers (MSPs), and contractors, ensuring service quality, security alignment, and contractual accountability.
  • Oversee licensing, renewals, procurement, and vendor risk considerations.
  • Develop and manage the IT budget, forecasting future technology and cybersecurity needs.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of progressive IT experience with cybersecurity.
  • Strong experience supporting:
  • Microsoft environments and enterprise IT operations
  • Networking fundamentals (switching, routing, wireless, VPN)
  • Microsoft 365 administration (M365, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online)
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Government contracts or regulated environments
  • Translation of cybersecurity and compliance requirements into technical controls
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple initiatives effectively.

Education & Certifications (Preferred)

Equivalent hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of education and formal certifications.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field

Baseline / Foundational Certifications

  • CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent)
  • CompTIA A+ or Network+

Platform / IT Management Certifications

  • Microsoft certifications (Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server)
  • CCNA or equivalent desired
  • ITIL (Foundation or higher) desired
