Job Title: Lead Nuclear Med Tech

Unit:  Austin Blvd. Medical Imaging

Shift:  Full Time Days(7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.)

Facility:   Austin Landing-Free Standing Emergency Department

 

General Summary/Responsibilities:

The Lead Nuclear Medicine technologist is responsible for coordinating all duties associated with the Nuclear Medicine Department. Responsible for maintaining staffing levels at the appropriate budgeted levels. Provides immediate supervisor with information regarding the daily operations and gives input into programs, procedure development, and staff evaluations. In a timely manner, will deal with direct reports effectively and hold others accountable. Responsible for compliance with all regulatory guidelines, including the completion of quality assurance testing. Independently performs Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing proper techniques procedures and administration of radiopharmaceuticals. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the Nuclear Medicine department including radiation protection practices. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of his/her duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities.

Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire

  •  Nuclear Medicine registry required

  • ODH licensure required

  •  ARRT RT ( R ) and/or NMTCB required

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience

Prior job title or occupational experience: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Preferred experience: Progressive Nuclear Medicine experience

Knowledge/Skills

  •  Knowledge in anatomy and physiology

  •  Knowledge of Ohio Department of rules & regulations

  •  Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

  •  Proficient in Radiology Information System (RIS) or Cardiology Information System

  • Proficient with Image Storage system

  • Leadership skills
