Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and implement mechanical systems and components. The ideal candidate will be responsible for taking engineering projects from concept through production, including CAD design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support. This role offers the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions to meet customer and product requirements.

 

Job Functions:

  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems
  • Create detailed engineering drawings with proper tolerances and GD&T in compliance with industry standards.
  • Review engineering analysis (stress, thermal, vibration)
  • Support prototyping and testing of new designs, including fixture design and test plans.
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure design compatibility and manufacturability.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for field or production issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in product design, cost reduction, and quality.
  • Prepare technical documentation including BOMs, specifications, and assembly instructions.
  • Interface with vendors and suppliers on material selection, fabrication methods, and component sourcing.
  • FEA and CFD experience a plus but not required
  • Select materials and coordinate with manufacturing, the methods to be used in assembly
  • Provide support to both internal and external customers in use/application of new/legacy product
  • Provide technical support to sales department for quotes, customer service and special design/ price requests
  • Test and evaluate designs and provide product specifications or test data as required, interpret test data so design meets specifications (including possibility of performing data reduction/ report writing)
  • Recommend new products and/or modifications and improve existing products
  • Interface with customers as necessary to clarify design objectives on projects and         communicate updates to sales department
  • Adhere to DPG release to production protocols
  • Stay current on latest technologies with continuing education
  • Read and understand the company safety policies

  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

  • Ability to operate at an advanced level in computer software
  • Ability to demonstrate good writing skills to produce concise and accurate test plans, reports and presentations
  • Ability to transition a paper design in to physical hardware
  • Ability to demonstrate professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to be personally connected to others on the job, maintain a professional demeanor with a positive attitude
  • Ability to travel to field site when necessary

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, materials science, and mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with GD&T and design for manufacturability
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
