WKEF, the ABC and FOX affiliates in Dayton, Ohio, is seeking its next Multimedia Journalist! We’re looking for a motivated self‑starter who is eager to break into television news or continue growing in their journalism career. The ideal candidate is curious, driven, and excited to learn. They should be able to develop strong story ideas and contacts, demonstrate solid writing abilities, understand the importance of digital and social media, and bring a positive, can‑do attitude to the newsroom. This position includes three days of reporting per week and leading the station’s social media coverage on weekends.

Main responsibilities of this role include:Â
- Pitch and develop stories that can be shared across multiple station platforms
- Gather and share content throughout the day, updating the web and social media platforms as new information comes in
- Write, shoot and edit meaningful stories that go beyond news releases and surface levelÂ
- Take charge of our social media platforms on the weekends to provide engaging content and grow our following
- Work closely with managers and producers to develop ideas and push creativity boundaries
The ideal candidate will possess:Â
- Strong writing and copy-editing skills
- Proficient in Adobe PremiereÂ
- A journalism or communication degree is preferred, but all candidates will be considered
- The ability to work well under pressure and strict deadlines
