Overview

Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, passionate Production Technician Supervisor to join our Blade manufacturing team and help build flight-critical components for our EVTOL electric aircraft. The Joby Aviation team is made up of extremely talented, hardworking, proactive, and hands-on individuals, operating in a very fast paced and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities

As a Production Technician Supervisor, you will enable a team of production technicians to achieve daily goals for safety, quality, and quantity. The ideal candidate must have experience

in a manufacturing environment with the ability to quickly adapt to changing work requirements and strong communication skills to resolve issues with cross-functional teams including production leadership, quality, engineering and inventory. The roles and

responsibilities will include:

 

• Maintaining a safe work environment;

• Leading daily team and cross-functional meetings;

• Accurate reporting of downtime events to production leadership and cross-functional teams;

• Allocating people resources efficiently and effectively to achieve the weekly build plan;

• Directly supervise, hire, and train technicians; manage shift schedules, appraise performance, and handle disciplinary actions;

• Resolving issues, often with cross-functional teams and escalating when appropriate;

• Developing an in-depth understanding of processes in the assigned area; and

• Be hands on, build, troubleshoot, and rework with engineering and production technicians

Required

• Great team-oriented mind set, positive culture driven personality and willingness to get dirty and jump in to help as needed

• HS diploma or GED equivalent

• Willing to work Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 4:30pm and 50% of Saturdays, as needed

• Flexibility to adapt to and allocate resources to changing work assignments

• Ability to think strategically and prioritize work assignments to meet goals

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing or equivalent

• 5+ years' experience with molding making and/or aerospace tooling

• 3+ years of experience leading teams of people in production and/or R&D environment

• Detail and quality oriented

• Basic computing skills

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Desired

• RTM injection tooling experience a big plus

• Experience in a fast-paced environment

• Proficient with MS Office

• Familiarity with a manufacturing execution system (MES)

• Experience in high pressure production environments

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $67,100 - $117,800/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
