Project Overview

KBR is looking for highly motivated rising Juniors, Seniors and Graduate students seeking science, engineering and software development opportunities that provide challenging and meaningful work experience to be a part of our 2025 Intern class.

KBR is recruiting full-time Engineering Interns for the summer term. This internship will include the creation and integration of a hardware prototype system to support scientific research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and gather requirements.
  • Develop system architecture diagram.
  • Prototype a minimum viable product (MVP).
  • Test, debug, and iterate on design features.
  • Document the project and deliver the final product.
Learning Outcomes & Impact

This project will provide the opportunity to learn valuable research skills and practice hardware/software integration while dealing with user requirements and expectations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Full-time rising junior, senior, or graduate student working toward an engineering degree, ABET-accredited preferred.
  • Must work well in both a team environment and independently.
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
  • Must have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement.
  • Self-motivated; takes ownership of projects and issues, and following issues through to resolution.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Major field of study: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
