Security Driver (CDL Required)
Full-time • $21.53 hourly – Bi-weekly pay
Location • Dayton, Ohio

Schedule
Tuesday through Saturday: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM

About the Role

We are seeking a responsible, safety‑minded professional to support center operations by transporting students, maintaining vehicle safety, and assisting in daily security functions. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with youth, promoting a safe campus environment, and ensuring compliance with center and federal guidelines.

This position is well‑suited for individuals with experience in:

• Commercial driving (Class A or B CDL)
• Youth services or educational settings
• Safety, security, or patrol operations
• Customer service and student support
• Vehicle care, maintenance, and transport coordination

In this role, you will work closely with the Security Manager and campus security team to ensure safe transportation, enforce center policies, and maintain a secure and welcoming environment for all students and staff.

This is an on‑site, student‑facing position that requires strong communication skills, reliability, and consistent modeling of professionalism.

Your work directly supports student safety, engagement, and success in the Job Corps program.

What You’ll Do

Transportation & Vehicle Safety

• Drive center vehicles to transport students to and from the center, work‑based learning sites, appointments, activities, and designated arrival points.
• Maintain vehicles in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
• Complete all required logs, documentation, and reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assist with custodial maintenance tasks related to vehicle upkeep.

Security Support & Campus Safety

• Assist security staff by maintaining accurate logs of student and staff entering or exiting the center.
• Patrol buildings and grounds, ensuring the physical security of center property.
• Monitor doors, windows, equipment, lighting, locks, and emergency equipment.
• Enforce federal, state, and center rules and regulations to ensure a safe and orderly environment.

Safety, Compliance & Culture

• Provide gate and desk coverage to enforce check‑in and check‑out procedures.
• Confiscate contraband and ensure proper reporting and disposal through the Security Shift Supervisor.
• Inform students and staff of unsafe behaviors or conditions.
• Model, mentor, and reinforce positive center culture.
• Report ethical concerns or violations promptly.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL required (Class B acceptable); must have School bus and/or passenger endorsement.

• Minimum one year of driving experience.
• Previous experience working with youth preferred.
• General knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Understanding of local, state, and federal security operations and procedures.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to model Career Success Standards and support student behavioral development.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. (I-9 verification required).
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• Proof of adequate vehicle insurance.
